A day in the life of a Product Owner

(We are living during a pandemic, so there’s no such thing as a day at HQ. We fully support a work-from-home situation (read as monitors, headphones, webcam, docks, and whatever else you might need). In normal times though...)

You arrive at the office with a big smile and the cycle sweats. Last week you attended a UX/Product meetup and looking to facilitate new Customer Discovery techniques to help the team. You were inspired and today is the day you’re setting up, a quick story mapping session to help unblock the team on a new feature you’ve been working on.

During the morning standup with ZIVVER Product leadership, you discuss things like improving onboarding, and performance of security scanning for attachments listing of all applications and much more.

Around 11:30 a.m. it’s time to gather the input you need from leadership, the customer success team and our end users to push several new initiatives through the product process. Making sure to say ‘no’ (or ‘not yet’) to more than half of them. Always weighing the priority it has, value it will bring and effort it will take.

After enjoying a free lunch at the Humming Bar you dig into next a perplexing feature which can now be released with a new version of the Microsoft API. You prepare the necessary user stories so on Friday decisions are made to hand over to development, making sure ZIVVER maintains its speed and flexibility.

The day is drawing to an end. You are in the middle of your scrum process with the team and have a handover meeting to discuss an estimation and once again walk through all details to see if the story is complete on data, ux, ui, copy, possible technical risks and a main for zivver: the security aspect. The last video call of the day is one with the other product leads to discuss a big new project that spans multiple teams and how to align. At the end everyone grabs a drink, be it remote or at the office where 2 of the colleagues are
